Here's a sneak peak of some exciting new features in version 6 of Briefcase!
The dashboard has been completely redesigned to make time entry as fast as possible.
Select the task, Click and drag your time sheet on your calendar, Enter in a description and press 'Done'... It doesn't get easier than that... unless you need to log time against a scheduled task, which can be done in one click.
You can now also leave comments on the task, and viewing job details now gives you quick access to assets, the job folder and even job activity all from the dashboard!
We have introduced the ability to save and load templates across estimates, purchases and Invoices.
All details from the Detail, Line Items and Footnotes tabs are included.
We have also kept the ability to duplicate, which is particularly handy when variations need to be made to an Estimate or Purchase.
Marking an Estimate as approved will be one of your favourite things to do within version 6.
You'll be prompted to mark the job as live, automatically create tasks based on your line items and even allocate resources (e.g. a designer) to those tasks.
This all comes from another handy feature, the ability to set what rates a resource has access to.
Scheduling in version 6 is just a matter of clicking and dragging! Much like time entry, it's simple a case of selecting a task and clicking and dragging the required time on a resources calendar.
Scheduling can now be converted into time entries with just one click, and best of all you can now schedule time across multiple days!
Need to schedule the job that you have just updated? No problem. Version 6 allows you to schedule tasks directly on the job.
We have introduced the ability to add comments, and allocate more than one resource to a task.
Within the task you will also have quick access to see the timesheets each resource has added towards the task.
You have asked and we have listened! Version 6 includes Gantt charts at a job level, allowing you to quickly set start and end dates, dependencies and even move tasks (including scheduled time).
Within each task you will also be able to see any scheduled or committed time for the task, and double clicking it will load up the task details.
You can even set up external tasks to keep track of Client/Supplier deadlines.
Version 6 also introduces multicurrency support, additional rate tiers and much better integration with our accounting partners, introducing exporting purchases to QuickBooks, MYOB & Xero. There are a heap of additional features and changes we have made to make your Briefcase experience the best it can be.
