Create a shortcut

This handy form will help you make a shortcut to open Briefcase. If you are using our cloud service this is not for you!

Once you have downloaded your shortcut, simply click to open. The Briefcase shortcut is designed to give you access within your network and when you're offsite. Note: Offsite access requires network configuration, for more information see the support article.

 

This is the IP address of the computer hosting Briefcase if you're not sure scroll down for more info.

Your public IP address is 3.17.74.227. If you are outside your normal office network contact your system administrator for assistance.

Three simple ways to find your host ip address.

On your desktop: For MacOS and Windows

  1. Open FileMaker Pro and from the File menu select Open Remote
  2. In the Open Remote File dialog select Local Hosts from the pull-down menu
  3. The host ip address appears in the host list

On the server: For MacOS

  1. Access the server desktop
  2. From the Apple menu pull down System Preferences
  3. Click on the Network preference pane
  4. Your IP address will be visible to the right under your connection status. It will look something like this:
    Ethernet is connected and has the IP address 192.168.15.1

On the server: For Windows

  1. Access the server desktop
  2. Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type adapter, and then, under Network and Sharing Center, click View network connections.
  3. Select an active network connection, and then, in the toolbar, click View status of this connection. (You might need to click the chevron >> to find this command.)
  4. Click Details.
    Your computer's IP address appears in the Value column, next to IPv4 Address.
